Coffee with a Cop
The Lipscomb Park Community Center in partnership with the Powell Subdivision and Gramling Park Neighborhood Watch Groups held its first Coffee with a Cop on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the center. The event was attended by Police Chiefs Kevin Gillespie, City of Melbourne and Jim Rogers, City of Palm Bay along with a number of local officers from both cities.
The residents in attendance were able to interact and ask questions of the police officers to answer as well as voice any concerns they had and drank some delicious Einstein Brothers coffee and eat bagels with various flavors of cream cheese.
Both Chiefs addressed the residents and emphasized the importance of promoting police- community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.
Special thanks to Officer Melissa Rogers City of Palm Bay Police Department and Connie McClary with the Powell Subdivision Neighborhood Watch Group in organizing this event and to the City of Melbourne and City of Palm Bay Police Officers who participated in the event. We hope to have other events of this type in the future.
