Florence Riddick Celebrates 75th Birthday

Florence “Lou” Riddick, a longtime resident of Melbourne, celebrated her 75th Birthday at the Front Street Civic Center in Melbourne on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Her son, Minister Travis D. Riddick, and daughter, Rosalind E. Riddick, made her wish come true — she said she never had a birthday party so they decided to honor her with a Big Birthday Celebration!

She was escorted by her grandson, Elijah Champion, on a horse and carriage to her special event!   She had over 85 invited guests. They began the celebration with a Prayer from Rev. Dupree Williams and the Welcome and Occasion by Minister Travis Riddick.

Mrs. Barbara Jones decorated the entire room with white feathers. The food was provided by Cynthia Harden and her group. Cakes were made by Mrs. Ruth Ann Jackson-Byrd and the cupcakes were provided by Charmagne Cupcakes. Music was provided by DJ Dre from Melbourne and the horse and carriage by Downtown Horse and Carriage, Inc. A good time was had by all!
