Early Learning Coalition of Brevard County recognizes National Child Care Provider Appreciation Week

Brevard County, FL – The Early Learning Coalition of Brevard County hosted a weeklong celebration for National Child Care Provider Appreciation Week, packed with events designed to honor, uplift, and support our 200+ child care providers in Brevard County.
One of the week’s standout events took place on Wednesday, May 7, when providers gathered for the Reflect & Recharge celebration — a special day devoted to movement, mindfulness, self-care, and celebration. Attendees participated in a relaxing yoga session, an energizing Fit4Mom fitness class, and engaged in journaling activities. A Cozy Corner, sponsored by Becker’s, offered a peaceful space for rest and reflection, while Kaplan’s interactive Beam Mobile Projector Station brought joy and playfulness to the day. Lions KidSight shared the worldwide program with providers to ensure children receive eye screenings and follow-up care when needed. Hourly raffles added excitement, with prizes awarded to lucky attendees throughout the event, including tablets, books to add to their classroom libraries, and first aid kits.
District 4 Commissioner Rob Feltner, Chair of the Brevard County Commissioners, presented an official proclamation recognizing the Coalition and National Child Care Provider Appreciation Week at the commission meeting on May 6.
“Teaching is not just a profession — it is a calling. It demands creativity, patience, and heart. On behalf of the Early Learning Coalition of Brevard County, thank you to our providers and educators for your passion and dedication each and every day.” – Laura Gambino, CEO of The Early Learning Coalition of Brevard County. “We would also like to thank Commissioner Feltner and the Brevard County Commissioners who recognized the importance of early learning providers in our County.”
Other events held throughout the week included teacher shoutouts on social media, recognition of providers who received high CLASS scores, and a special video thanking providers.
National Child Care Provider Appreciation Week is celebrated annually during the first full week of May. It serves as an important reminder to recognize those who care for and educate our youngest learners with dedication and heart.
