F.A.C.E. Organization Held Their First Essay Competition

The FACE Organization held their first essay competition this year.  High school students in the Palm Bay / Melbourne area were invited to participate by writing an essay of 500 or more words on the topic of climate change.  Quite a few essays were submitted to the committee and 6 semifinalists were chosen. Four finalists were chosen to receive cash prizes.

The first-place winner Rachel Arrington was awarded $500.00. Second prize winner Taylor Cook was awarded$300.00 and the third prize winner Seyjah Gordon was awarded $200.00. We also had a runner up consolation prize of $100.00 presented to Talia Jackson based on the content of her essay.

The winners were recognized on Saturday October 21st, 2023, at a Red and Black luncheon at The Holiday Inn Conference Center in Viera. FACE is a non-profit organization of community members whose sole purpose is to give back to our college bound young men and women. Through an array of fund-raising events, FACE provides financial assistance to our leaders of tomorrow.
